Can anyone book a Sports Therapy session?Yes. In reality, it isn’t just sporting athletes that can experience pain or have an injury. It could happen while out jogging, doing some home DIY, or simply by picking up a box with a slightly twisted posture. Injury to our muscular soft tissue can happen in many ways and my treatments have proven to help clients of all walks of life from 7 to 85 year olds. Does Sports Massage treatment hurt?In a word - no. Although sports massage isn’t like your typical ‘spa’-type massages either. It doesn't have the relaxing, flowing from these typical massages follow. As a Sports Therapist, we draw on extensive anatomy knowledge to target specific tissues to relieve deep-set tension and increase the range of movement locally. Yes it does involve notable pressure, however everyone's discomfort threshold is different so on average we’re aiming for a 6-7/10 at worst. Your therapist is trained to read non-verbal signs of discomfort and to back off the pressure if any of these signs are noted. Put simply, we are here to help you relieve tension, not to add to it. Anyone who tells you sports massages should be painful are incorrect. Ultimately the pressure is always dictated by the client and not by the therapist.

What should I wear?Your choice of clothing is largely down to your area of treatment. If for example your injury area is your lower body, I recommend bringing shorts. (a changing area is provided). If we will be working on your upper body, you will be expected to remove all clothing above the waist. Modesty is retained at all times with towels and only the area being worked on is uncovered.
-
How long does each treatment session last?If your initial appointment is for 60 mins, 10 - 15 mins is dedicated to understanding your lifestyle with a full postural assessment including range of movement testing. The remaining 40-45 mins is treatment time. Follow up appointments begin with a 5 min status discussion and/or testing before beginning your 50 minute treatment session.
-
Do you treat all age groups?Yes. There are no upper age limit restrictions. While we do offer treatment to under 16s, we do seek parental consent and a chaperone must remain in the room at all times. See the individual treatment details for any variations.
-
How do you pay?Payments can easily be made via a debit or credit card via online booking or in person at your appointment. Cash is also acceptable if you’d prefer.
-
Is there free cancellation?Yes. We offer a simple cancellation policy where you are free to cancel more than 24 hours prior to the appointment with no fee. In instances, where cancellation is made with less than 24 hours to the session - 100% of the fee is required.
